The Committee on Salary Adjustments for civil servants has confirmed that the new minimum wage will take effect on July 29, 2024.
This was outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding released after the committee’s meeting, which our correspondent in Abuja obtained on Friday.
According to the MoU: “The NSIWC will prepare the necessary salary templates for the other consolidated pay structures for implementation; the effective date of implementation will be July 29, 2024.”
The committee was formed to enforce the provisions of the National Minimum Wage Act 2024, which increased the minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000.
