In a significant development, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS) has suspended all officers involved in the investigation related to allegations against popular crossdresser Bobrisky, also known as Idris Okuneye. Key Officers Suspended

The suspended officers include:

Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) at the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.

Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) at the Maximum Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.

Additionally, ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, assigned to the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, has also been suspended. He is accused of escorting a convicted inmate outside the facility without proper authorization.

Another senior officer, Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, who serves as DCC at the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kuje-Abuja, has been placed on suspension due to allegations that he accepted funds on behalf of an inmate.These suspensions come as part of a broader investigation into claims that Bobrisky paid ₦15 million to certain officials to have money laundering charges against him dropped. The allegations were brought to light by social media influencer VeryDarkMan, who released the controversial audio recording.

Government Response

The federal government has ordered a comprehensive investigation into these bribery allegations, emphasizing zero tolerance for corruption within the correctional system. The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, stated that any acts of indiscipline and corruption would face severe consequences.
