The PDP has alleged suppression of votes in three key populous LGAs – Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba/Okha. However, the APC has claimed victory in 13 out of the 18 LGAs.
Collation of results at the state INEC headquarters faced disruptions, with security agents reportedly chasing away observers and agents of political parties. Allegations of vote-buying and other electoral offences have also been made.
The final results are still being collated, and INEC has assured a level playing field for all parties. The election has been marred by tensions and accusations of rigging, with both the PDP and APC trading allegations. Nigerians await the final outcome and hope for a peaceful resolution of the electoral disputes.
