Voting has officially concluded in the Edo State governorship election, and the process of collating results has begun.
With over two million eligible voters, the turnout was relatively low as residents cast their votes for one of the 17 candidates in the race. Once the results are declared at the polling units, they will be further collated at the ward level and subsequently at the 18 local government areas across the state. The final results for each local government will be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials at designated collation centers.
The last phase of collation will take place at the INEC headquarters in Benin, the Edo State capital, where the final outcome will be confirmed.
Wapgist will continue to provide updates from various wards and local governments as results are officially released by INEC.
Stay tuned for live updates on results from across the state.
