The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has expressed alarm over a potential food crisis, criticizing the Federal Government for its slow response to critical agricultural challenges.
National President Architect Kabir Ibrahim highlighted issues like low mechanization, limited credit access, transportation difficulties, insecurity, and flooding as factors exacerbating the situation.
He warned that without immediate action, Nigeria could face severe food shortages.
Ibrahim emphasized the need for effective government interventions and sustainable practices to empower smallholder farmers and reduce post-harvest losses, which significantly impact food security in the country.
