The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially announced a new policy requiring candidates to pay N50,000 for the reprinting of their certificates. This decision was revealed by NECO’s Registrar, Dantani Wushishi, in a public notice shared with journalists in Minna, Niger State.
According to the announcement, the N50,000 fee will be subject to periodic review. Candidates will only be able to request reprints within one year of the original certificate issuance; after this period, NECO will not accept any requests for reprints.
In addition to the new reprint fee, NECO has set a one-month deadline for candidates to submit requests for corrections to their results. This timeframe begins from the date when the results are officially released.
As NECO implements this new policy, candidates must be aware of the changes and prepare accordingly. The council’s decision reflects ongoing challenges within Nigeria’s educational framework and raises important questions about accessibility and affordability in education.
